Usain Bolt wins 100 metres race at the Ostrava Golden Spike competition
In his second 100m outing of his final season, the Jamaican was slow out of the blocks before jumping ahead and edging Yunier Perez of Cuba, who ran a personal best 10.09 seconds.
He is the most successful man in the history of the championships with 13 world medals – 11 gold – and can surpass the 14 his Jamaican compatriot Merlene Ottey won to become the most decorated athlete at the event.
“I’m not happy but I’m just getting into my running and have some training to do
“I’ll be fine. I need to get checked over by my doctor and the coach will give me some training, so no worries,” said Bolt.
