Southern Kaduna killings: Communities reiterate peaceful coexistence

Determined to ensure the restoration of peace in the troubled Southern Kaduna that witnessed incessant killings, a delegation of Muslims paid Sallah homage to Mr. Tanko Tete, the Chief of Kanikon in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State to cement harmonious relationship.
His Highness, the Tum Nikyob in Jema’a Local government area, Mal. Tanko Tete, while welcoming the Muslim delegation attributed the crises that led to the destruction of lives and property in Southern Kaduna to the activities of ‘bad eggs.’

He told the delegation of Dangoma Community that communities in the chiefdom have for years co-existed peacefully as brothers and sisters, irrespective of all forms of differences.

The Tum Nikyob regretted that bad eggs among them were determined to truncate the existing peace and told the people to resist all tendencies that could breed enmity.
While wishing the Dangoma community and all Muslims a successful Ed el Fitr celebration, Mal. Tanko Tete said it was only through peaceful coexistence that meaningful progress and development could be achieved in the area.

He urged them to use the lessons learnt in the month of Ramadan to preach peace, pray for the community, the State, the country’s well being and quick recovery of President Muhamadu Buhari.
The Leader of the delegation and the Kuyambana Kaninkon, Mal. Alhassan Saidu, said they were in the palace to pay him the traditional sallah homage and commiserate with him over the demise of his wife, while assuring him of their total willingness to the sustenance of peace and unity in the area.
