The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has approved the
appointment of Dr Olatunde Oladeji Alabi as a substantive Chief Medical
Director of the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja.
Osinbajo, today, approved the appointment of Alabi and 13 new
CMDs/MDs of Federal Medical Centers, Teaching Hospitals and Specialty
Centers.
Alabi, a former Chairman, Medical Advisory Council (CMAC), has been
Acting CMD since the expiration of his predecessor’s tenure in 2016.
Alabi is a consultant obstetrician/ gynaecologist.
Before his confirmation as the Chief Medical Director, his position
as Acting CMD sparked series of controversy and protest within Lokoja,
the Kogi State capital.
Some group who were against his operation at the hospital, wrote a
petition against him (Olatunde Oladeji Alabi) to the Kogi State governor
and the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly for onward delivery to the
Acting President
