Tope Alabi Opens Up About Painful Relationship Experiences Before Marriage

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Tope Alabi, has opened up about the emotional challenges she faced in her past relationships before eventually finding love and stability in marriage. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a candid video shared on her Instagram page, the “Oore Ti O Common” crooner revealed that she endured multiple heartbreaks, with several men ending relationships with her for “spiritual reasons.”

“When I became an adult and got to the stage where I needed to take men home to meet my parents, something strange always happened.

The men would say they needed to pray about it — and after that, I’d never hear from them again,” she recounted.

The 54-year-old singer explained that in many cases, intermediaries later informed her that the men had allegedly consulted prophets, who advised them not to proceed with the relationship.

“One of our intermediaries told me that a man once went to meet prophets who said I wasn’t spiritually okay to marry,” she said.

Tope disclosed that at least four men “stylishly left” her in similar circumstances, leaving her confused and heartbroken at the time.

Despite the emotional setbacks, she expressed gratitude to God for eventually blessing her with a supportive partner.

“Would you tell me not to thank God when I remember all this? I can count about four men who left, but in the end, God gave me my husband,” she said with a smile.

The gospel icon also revealed how she met her husband through her boss at work, describing it as a divinely orchestrated connection.

However, in a twist of fate, she shared that her father had already given her hand in marriage to another suitor before her current husband could formally come for the introduction.

“Before the man could come for my introduction, my father had already given my hand in marriage to another suitor,” she narrated.

Tope Alabi’s testimony has since sparked emotional reactions on social media, with many fans praising her honesty and resilience, while others drew inspiration from her story of faith, patience, and divine timing.
