Amaechi vs Abe: No cause for alarm over court judgment – Ex-lawmaker, Kwanee

Former Deputy Speaker of the Rivers state House of Assembly, Leyii
Kwanee has said that the judgement of Justice Chiwendu Nworgu has no
effect on the emergence of Tonye Cole as the APC Governorship
candidate.

Kwanee while reacting to the judgment on his return from Abuja said
Justice Nworgu assumed jurisdiction on the matter despite petitions
questioning his bias.

He also said members of the APC in Rivers State should not be
disturbed by the judgement, adding that the outcome was expected.

The former Deputy Speaker, however, advised those who lost in the
primaries to join forces with the leader of the APC in Rivers state,
Rotimi Amaechi to take over power come 2019.

"I want to encourage all APC members in Rivers State not to be
perturbed. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Our Lawyers are
up to their game. I believe by now, an Appeal may have been entered.

"Don't also forget that the issue of the jurisdiction of the court was
challenged. The Judge also has about four petitions hanging around his
neck. But he discountenanced all that just to give that judgment.

"One thing is clear, the Law as it is right now recognizes only Arch.
Tonye Cole as the APC Governorship candidate in Rivers state. That has
not changed. All our candidates are also intact. So, there is actually
nothing to worry about.

"My advice for all those doing these things, all those who lost and
all those who are aggrieved is to join the Minister of Transportation,
our Leader, Rotimi Amaechi in his quest to save Rivers State from
people who were unprepared for power," he said.
