Messi, who has a huge influence in both Argentina and Barcelona, felt
both players were underperforming.
The South Americans kick-started their campaign with a 1-1 draw,
before they were beaten 3-0 by Croatia.
They, however, scrapped into the last 16 of the competition, thanks to
a 2-1 win over Nigeria in their final group game, but were dumped out
by France.
Messi reportedly told Argentina manager, Sampaoli to drop two players
he believed to be underperforming.
